Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Original Capital (“we”, “us”) collects when you use BePluggedIn at bepluggedin.com (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. Contact us any time at admin@bepluggedin.com.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address, membership status, and role. Sign-in uses one-time codes emailed to you; we never store a password.
• Contributed content.Broker emails you forward to your contribution inbox or the shared desk address, including the sender’s details and the message body, and the market signals extracted from them (companies, prices, sizes, security types, dates).
• Email to our domain. Messages sent to admin@bepluggedin.com or any address at bepluggedin.com are received by our email provider and forwarded to our administrators.
• Company follows. Companies you choose to follow and private delivery state for their update emails. Following is opt-in, requires active membership, and is not public.
• Usage and technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) and error telemetry used to keep the Service reliable.

We use essential authentication cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

2. How we use information

• to operate the Service: authentication, waitlist and membership management, and support;
• to extract, review, and publish market observations without contributor attribution;
• to enrich published companies with licensed financing data;
• to send transactional email such as sign-in codes and account notices;
• to email published-research updates for companies you choose to follow;
• to monitor for errors, abuse, and misuse of the Service.

Published signals never include contributor attribution. Broker names shown refer to the originating broker, not the member who forwarded the email. Original emails are stored privately and are visible only to their contributing member and administrators for review.

Company pages can be viewed without an account. They show published buyer and seller observations, including broker names, prices, sizes, terms, reviewed notes, and financing history. This includes previously published research. Original emails, contributor account identities, and unpublished submissions remain private. Public research may be copied by readers.

3. How we share information

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We share data only with the service providers that run the platform, each acting on our instructions. Published research is also available on public company pages, as described above:

• Supabase (authentication and database)
• Vercel (web hosting and DNS)
• Fly.io (API hosting)
• OpenAI (automated extraction of market signals from contributed emails)
• PitchBook (licensed company financing data; we send company identifiers, not personal data)
• Resend (sending and receiving email for bepluggedin.com)
• Sentry (error monitoring)

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the Service and its members.

4. Retention

Correction reports and review notes are stored privately for administrators to check research accuracy. They are not published automatically. Please omit personal contacts, raw emails, and confidential material. Reports may be retained while needed for editorial audit; account deletion removes the link to the reporter.

We keep account data for as long as your account exists, and contributed emails and extracted signals for as long as they support the published market color. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing admin@bepluggedin.com; we will honor the request unless we are legally required to retain something.

5. Security

Access to raw contributed emails is restricted to their contributing member and administrators. Data is encrypted in transit, member access is enforced with row-level security in our database, and sign-in requires possession of your email inbox. No system is perfectly secure; report concerns to admin@bepluggedin.com.

6. Your choices and rights

Unfollow at Following or confirm the unsubscribe link in a company update email. Unfollowing deletes that subscription and pending delivery state. Company alerts are separate from contribution replies. Already-sent emails cannot be recalled.

You may access, correct, or delete your account information by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, portability, and erasure) under local law; we will honor valid requests. The Service is not directed to children under 18.

7. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above, and material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
